Describe your role/s at VentraIP Australia

To sum it all up, my role as a technical operations member is to fix broken things. This is necessary for maintaining our servers and infrastructure. Other things I do include working on improvements and upgrades, reviewing and testing new hardware and software, and taking some escalations from the technical support team. There is a big emphasis on finding new methods that can help us to continuously improve.

How would you spend a million dollars?

I would travel through Japan and northern Europe and also pay off my existing house. With the leftovers I would then redo my entire home computer & network. This would include a couple more screens (3 is ideal), storage server and media server. All up it would probably cost me about 30 grand.

How long have you been working at VentraIP? What lead you to the job?

I have been working here for 50+ months. I actually discovered the job on Seek and applied right away. I got a phone call that afternoon and then got the job the next day. It was a very swift process.

What is the most exciting thing you’ve ever done?

I actually won some money at a gaming event. The game itself was Call of Duty, which you may have heard of. The competition itself was Australia wide and it was online based. My 3000+ hours spent playing the game paid off in the end.

What is the best part of the VentraIP Australia office?

You’ve probably heard this a lot already but the relaxed environment is a big one. We always have things to do in technical operations, however, we are free to work out our own pace when it is not something urgent that needs to be fixed.
