How do I stop certain IP’s or visitors from reaching my website?
Posted Thursday April 17th 2014 / Category Advanced

In some instances you may find that you want to block certain users or IP’s from reaching your website for reasons such as posting of spam, bots hitting your website repeatedly, etc.

If you know their IP address you can block them through cPanel. To block an IP from reaching your website, follow these steps:

  1. Login to your cPanel service.
  2. Click on the IP Deny Manager icon.
  3. Enter the IP and click Add.

Repeat as required for additional IP addresses.

To find IP addresses which may be hitting your website repeatedly you can follow these steps:

  1. Login to your cPanel service.
  2. Click on the Awstats icon.
  3. Click the view icon next to the domain investigating for.

You can then use those IP stats to gather the information you require.
