Everything You Need to Know About Your Website Transfer
What details do I need to provide?
To transfer your website, we’ll need the cPanel login details from your current hosting provider:
- Service IP Address
- Service Username
- Service Password
What is my Service IP Address?
This is the IP address used by your current provider to access your cPanel account. If you’re unsure where to find it, contact your current host for help.
Why is the verification step important?
Verification ensures your details are correct and the transfer can proceed. If verification fails, it usually means:
- The IP address, username or password is incorrect.
- Your current hosting account doesn’t have enough free disk space. We need at least 40% free space to complete the transfer. You can delete old files or ask your host to temporarily increase your disk space.
You can skip verification, but this will create an eTicket for our support team to guide you through the next steps.
What if my current host doesn’t use cPanel?
No worries — we can still help!
We’ll need access via FTP, including:
- Domain name
- Service IP
- FTP username
- FTP password
If your website uses WordPress, Joomla, or Drupal, you’ll also need to provide a database export, which your current provider can supply.
Note: We do require login details to access your existing hosting account — without them, we won’t be able to complete the migration.

Tailored Hosting Plan
During the transfer process, we’ll allocate a hosting plan tailored to your website’s disk usage. Your first month of hosting is free. If you skip the verification step, we’ll assign a default plan — but you can change this anytime via your VIPcontrol account.
How does Schedule Website Transfer work?
When booking your transfer, you’ll choose a preferred date and time. Our team will do their best to complete the transfer within your selected window. If there’s a delay, we’ll get in touch with the next steps.
