Ensuring Gmail is connected to your VentraIP Australia email account securely (TLS)

If you’re using Gmail to retrieve email from your VentraIP Australia hosted email service, here are the steps you need to take to ensure it’s connecting sucurely.

  1. Login to Gmail
  2. Open your account Settings
  3. Navigate to the Accounts and Import tab
  4. Click Add an email account next to Check email from other accounts
  5. Input the email address you want to add, then click Next
  6. Choose the Import emails from my other account (POP3) option, then click Next
  7. Input the Username, Password, POP Server address
    1. The username will be your email address
    2. The password will be the password for that email address/account
    3. The POP Server address will be:
      1. For dedicated email hosting it’s
      2. For cPanel email, typically the address will be
  8. Ensure you set the Port setting to 995 and enable the Always use secure connection (SSL) when retrieving mail setting

  9. You can opt to enable/disable any of the other options based off your personal preference.
  10. Finish up by clicking Add Account
