How do I reset my FTP password?

There are two ways to reset your FTP password:

Quick cPanel Login

Using the cPanel Quick Login you can use VIPControl to pass you straight through to cPanel where you can update your password:

  1. Login to your VIPControl account.
  2. Select the My Services option on the top left in your account > Hosting from the menu below
  3. Click the cPanel login button for the service that you need to update the password for
  4. Once in cPanel go to the Password and Security section to update your password.

*Updating your cPanel password resets the password on your primary FTP user.

NOTE: You can create new/sub FTP users through cPanel by going to FTP Accounts. Here you will also be able to adjust the passwords for those sub-accounts.

VIPControl Service Overview

Within VIPControl you may use the Overview section to retrieve or reset your cPanel/FTP password:

  1. Login to your VIPControl account.
  2. Click the My Account option in the top-right of the page.
  3. Select Overview from under the Account area on the left-hand side.
  4. Here you will be able to update the password as outlined in the image below:

NOTE: If you do change your username then it may require further development changes on the back end.
