How do I reset my FTP password?
Posted Monday April 14th 2014 / Category File Management

There are two ways to reset your FTP password in a matter of minutes.

Using the cPanel Quick Login

Using the cPanel Quick Login you can use VIPControl to pass you straight through to cPanel where you can update your password:

  1. Login to your VIPControl account.
  2. Click the Manage my Hosting button on your VIPControl homepage.
  3. Next to your new cPanel web hosting service, click the cPanel button.
  4. Click on the Change Password icon on your cPanel home screen.

Updating your cPanel password resets the password on your primary FTP user.

Please note: you can create new/separate FTP users through cPanel by going to FTP Accounts; this is perhaps a more secure method of FTP access.

VIPControl Service Overview

Within VIPControl you may use the Service Overview options to retrieve or reset your cPanel/FTP password, please follow these steps:

  1. Login to your VIPControl account.
  2. Click the Manage my Hosting button on your VIPControl homepage.
  3. Click on your hosting service and from the dropdown options select Service Overview.
  4. If you have changed your cPanel/FTP password in the past, simply click the Reset cPanel/FTP Password option.
