How do I reset my WordPress login details?

This guide covers how to reset your WordPress website’s password using Installatron or Softaculous. If your website isn’t setup inside Installatron or Softaculous, we’ve created some guides on how to import them.

Resetting Via Installatron

  1. Login to cPanel
  2. Navigate to Installation Applications Installer
  3. Click on the Settings (spanner icon) next to the website you want to reset the password for
  4. In the Administrator Password field, put your new desired password in
  5. Scroll down to the bottom of the page and click Save All

Resetting Via Softaculous

  1. Login to cPanel
  2. Navigate to Softaculous Apps Installer
  3. Click on on the blue box labelled Applications
  4. Click on the Edit button (pencil icon) next to the website you want to reset the password for
  5. Scroll down to the Admin Account Section
  6. Input your new desired password
  7. Scroll down to the bottom of the page, and click Save Installation Details

Advanced

If you do not want to use Installatron or Softaculous (or neither method works), you can try the following the official manual reset options on WordPress’s website.

Before trying any of the advanced methods, please keep the following in mind.

  • If you’re unsure how to or uncomfortable completing these steps, we recommend having a web developer making these changes.
