Sometimes Installatron will return a PHP error, stating that it is unable to install your script. This is generally a fairly easy one to tackle. There are a couple of possible issues:
You may have a .htaccess in your /public_html folder (or possibly even above that) which is redirecting all requests for files and directories into another application already installed.
Additionally it could be because you have a php flag in your .htaccess; under our PHP environment this is a big no-no and will cause errors sadly.
Simply rename that .htaccess to .htaccess1 and try again. This will instantly tell you if it’s something in your .htaccess causing the issue.
It could be a permissions misconfiguration; as we operate a suPHP environment; most files should be chmod 644 and folders 755 (there are some exceptions to this rule such as configuration files which should be set lower!). If you would like to blanket reset your permissions to these values, you may use the VIPControl permissions fixer:
Please try running the permissions fixer via:
- Login to your VIPControl account.
- Click on the My Services option on the top-left of the account > Hosting from the menu below
- Hit the Manage button for the service that you are trying to fix
- Select the Permissions Fixer option under Security on the left-hand side
- Hit Reset to run the fixer
If you need any assistance whilst following through with any of these processes, feel free to get in touch with us via eTicket or over the phone on 13 24 85.
