How do I increase my maximum file upload size in WordPress?
Updated Tuesday May 19th 2020 / Category Web Hosting

You may be prompted to increase your upload limit if WordPress is telling you that your upload files are too big. Here’s how to increase those limitations from your PHP configuration!

  1. Navigate to cPanel’s “Select PHP Version” section.
  2. Then, click the Options tab.
  3. WordPress uses POST in PHP to upload files – so the most important value to increase here is post_max_size. You should also ensure the value for upload_max_filesize is increased respectively to the same, or greater.
  4. That’s it! Changes made in this PHP Selector tool are applied automatically.
