IntaServe - Frequently Asked Questions
Updated Thursday January 28th 2021 / Category IntaServe

What happened with IntaServe?

On 1 July 2015, VentraIP Australia, the largest self-funded web host and domain name registrar in the country, completed an asset acquisition of IntaServe.

As part of the acquisition, all active IntaServe clients had a VIPControl account created for them based on the details stored within the IntaServe billing portal. At the time of creation of these accounts in July 2015, all customers were emailed their VIPControl login credentials. If you require this information it can be retrieved online here.

Over the months following the initial announcement all IntaServe hosting services were integrated into the VentraIP Australia hosting infrastructure and instantly received additional benefits such as LiteSpeed web server, CloudFlare, BlackLotus DDoS protection, PHP version selector, and much more. All customers were emailed the relevant information and all migrations were completed in August 2015. For most legacy IntaServe web hosting customers, the web hosting plan and pricing were not impacted and all renewal dates were honoured.

Any .AU domain names held with IntaServe were migrated to the VIPControl panel with no impact to end clients, however, due to ICANN compliance policies gTLD domain names were not moved automatically and remain within the legacy IntaServe portal accessible online here.

How about my domain names that I had with IntaServe?

For the moment your domain names will be continued to managed through the existing IntaServe portal.

Customers with .au domain names that are with IntaServe’s auDA accreditation will be automatically and seamlessly moved to Synergy Wholesale, VentraIP’s wholesale division, and email notices will be sent to registrants informing them of the transfer very soon.

Customers with domain names at legacy providers used by IntaServe will continue to manage these domain names through the IntaServe portal, but we will be encouraging customers to transfer their domain names to VentraIP Australia as soon as possible.

It’s important to note that these changes will not impact any services you have tied to your domain name (such as email or web hosting services) and these will continue to function as per normal.

How will I be billed now?

VentraIP Australia will be taking over all billing operations from IntaServe. Please be aware that you will be governed by VentraIP Australia’s Terms, Policies and Agreements so we encourage all customers to make themselves familiar with these new policies.

Invoices that are currently outstanding with IntaServe can be paid from within the existing IntaServe customer portal and all future invoices will be generated by VentraIP Australia inside of VIPControl.

For further information on Accounts and Billing at VentraIP Australia please see our FAQ category.

Where do I manage my hosting services now?

For the moment your hosting services will be continued to managed through the existing IntaServe portal.

Hosting services will be migrated to VentraIP Australia’s infrastructure in the coming weeks, and further information on this will be sent to you via email which will include the date and time of your migration.

In order to obtain technical support for your services, however, you will need to login to VIPControl and submit a new eTicket to our technical support team.

I’m an existing IntaServe customer, what does this mean for me?

VentraIP Australia, the largest self-funded web host and domain name registrar in the country, has today announced the acquisition of IntaServe. This does mean that going forward all your services will be billed by VentraIP Australia, however this doesn’t specifically mean that your services will be negatively impacted.

You will soon receive an email that will contain your new login credentials for our customer portal known as VIPControl, and from here you can manage your account, services and contact our support team. It’s important to note that the existing IntaServe portal will remain active for historic invoices and management of legacy services that may not be able to be transferred to VentraIP Australia or have not yet been transferred to VentraIP Australia.

So does that mean I won’t be on an IntaServe hosting plan anymore?

Great news! For most IntaServe web hosting customers, your web hosting plan and pricing will not be changing and we will be honouring your current renewal dates. However, you will receive many of the additional benefits of being hosted on our infrastructure such as LiteSpeed web server, CloudFlare, BlackLotus DDoS protection, PHP version selector, and much more.

Hosting plan changes are shown below:

Kickstarter

Currently gives you 5GB of disk space, 25GB of monthly bandwidth and 10 email accounts for $99.00 per year ($8.25 per month).

This plan will be changing to our Economy plan, which will give you 5GB disk space, 500GB of monthly bandwidth and unlimited email accounts for $95.40 per year ($7.95 per month).

When your service is migrated to our infrastructure you will be automatically placed on the new plan and have access to the additional benefits at no extra cost until your existing renewal date.

Starter

This plan will not be changing and your existing plan limits and pricing will remain.

Unlimited

For customers that signed up with the “Unlimited Space” company, please see the “Ex-Unlimited Space Customers” note at the bottom of this FAQ article.

For customers that signed up directly with IntaServe, this plan will not be changing and your existing plan limits and pricing will remain.

Bargain Hunter

Currently gives you unlimited disk space, 10GB of monthly bandwidth and 5 email accounts for $49.00 per year.

This plan will be changing to our Economy Saver plan, which will give you 1GB disk space, 250GB of monthly bandwidth and unlimited email accounts for $59.40 per year.

When your service is migrated to our infrastructure you will be automatically placed on the new plan and have access to the additional benefits at no extra cost until your existing renewal date.

Minimail

Currently provides a standalone email hosting service.

This is only applicable for customers with a standalone Minimail service. Customers that have a minimail service attached to their primary web hosting service will have the two services merged together and should refer to the plan on their web hosting service for more information.

For standalone minimail services, this plan will be changing to our Economy plan, which will give you 5GB of disk space, 500GB of monthly bandwidth and unlimited email accounts for $95.40 per year.

When your service is migrated to our infrastructure you will be automatically placed on the new plan and have access to the additional benefits at no extra cost until your existing renewal date.

Free Hosting

Unfortunately offering free hosting is not sustainable and we will be discontinuing this service from 30 September 2015.

Customers who are currently hosted on this plan will be automatically moved to our Economy Saver plan at $4.95 per month or they can choose to cancel the service at any time.

Ex-Unlimited Space Customers

Customers that previously had an unlimited disk space plan with the company “Unlimited Space” were moved to IntaServe a while back and given new plans. Unfortunately, these new plan limits were never applied to the services and, therefore, customers that should have limits of 10GB (or around that mark) instead incorrectly still have their original plan limit of unlimited disk space.

We regret to inform you that these plans are not sustainable and we will not be continuing them. The plan limits that IntaServe were supposed to assign will be assigned soon, as per emails we are sending to affected customers.
