What happened with Net Virtue?

On 2 August 2021, VentraIP Australia announced the acquisition of Net Virtue, a retail Australian provider of web hosting, and domain names. 

VentraIP Australia’s parent company, Nexigen Digital, is Australia’s largest privately-owned group of online service providers, which includes brands such as VentraIP Australia, Synergy Wholesale and Digital Eagles. The company employs more than 85 staff members in its south-east Melbourne office to deliver industry-leading service to more than 200,000 customers.

What will happen from here?

For the time being, everything will remain the same and you will log into nvArea to manage your services. We will be working over the next month to move your services as they currently stand to be managed through our own management system, VIPControl.

If we need to conduct physical hosting migration of services before being moved into VIPControl, you will be notified by email with the details you need.

Changes to Net Virtue hosting plans

For most Net Virtue customers, your web hosting plan and pricing will not be changing in the near future. Many plans will stay as they are, and a few others will be moved into very similar plans. Although a lot of plans will remain the same or similar, all services will still be migrated over to our own newer and faster hardware and receive the benefits of Corero DDoS protection, Fortinet Hardware Firewalls, Acronis hourly backups and much more.

You will receive more information from our team at a later date to confirm any adjustments to your currently active plan. Feel free to get in touch with our team if you would like to move to a specific plan, and we can help you find the best solution to suit you.

How will my Net Virtue account be billed from now on?

For the time being everything will remain the same, and you will be billed as normal via your Net Virtue account.

All Net Virtue customers will receive further correspondence from our team once services have been moved into their VIPControl account, at which point billing will be handled within VIPControl.

What is happening to my Net Virtue domain names?

All domain names will be automatically and seamlessly moved over into your VIPControl account in the near future. As Net Virtue’s domain names are registered with our sister company Synergy Wholesale, we’re able to seamlessly move all domain names without the need to change domain registrar.

It’s important to note that these changes will not impact any services you have tied to your domain name (such as email or web hosting services) and these will continue to function as per normal.

If your domain does not appear in VIPControl and you’d like our team to assist you with a domain transfer, then please do not hesitate to call us on 13 24 85 or submit an eTicket via VIPControl with the request.

How do I manage my Net Virtue hosting service?

Until further notice, all Net Virtue hosting services will continue to be managed within your Net Virtue account as normal. All active Net Virtue customers will eventually have a VIPControl account created for them based on the details stored within the Net Virtue billing portal.

You will receive further information at a later date from the VentraIP Australia team regarding the migration from Net Virtue to our own hardware. Once your migration is complete, all hosting services will be managed within your own VIPControl account.

How do I get support for my Net Virtue services?

All Net Virtue customers are encouraged to continue using the Net Virtue support system for tickets, and the VentraIP Australia phone number for 24/7 phone support. You will be able to access LiveChat support either through nvArea directly or by visiting the VentraIP website. Once customers accounts are moved to VentraIP Australia, they will receive further information to advise them to use VIPControl for eTicket support.
