Why is my WordPress duplicator script failing?
Updated Wednesday March 22nd 2017 / Category Web Hosting

WordPress duplicator scripts are commonly used to copy complete WordPress installations. Generally they require an archive of WordPress files and database backups placed onto the destination directory and the scripts will build the complete WordPress installation for you. The script will use whatever file permissions were set at the time of creating the archive file in the destination directory. If more open permissions are used such as 666 or 777 on files or folders this can cause the script to fail with a 403 error due to some security settings in place on our LiteSpeed WebServer software.

Under advanced options in these scripts you should find a setting to force permissions for all files to 644 and all directories to 755 which are the optimal settings for LiteSpeed and run the script from start to finish successfully.
