Setting up a git repository in cPanel

cPanel has a user interface for creating and cloning git repositories into your cPanel account quickly and easily.

Creating your own repository

  1. Log in to cPanel.
  2. Click on Git Version Control under Files.
  3. Click Create.
  4. Turn Clone a Repository off.
  5. Input the path you want to set for your new repository in the Repository Path field.
  6. Create a name for your repository in the Repository Name field.
  7. Click Create.

Cloning a repository

  1. Log in to cPanel.
  2. Click on Git Version Control under Files.
  3. Click Create.
  4. Input the URL for the remote git repository you want to clone in the Clone URL field (e.g WordPress clone URL: https://github.com/WordPress/WordPress)
  5. Input the path you want to set for your new repository in the Repository Path field.
  6. Create a name for your repository in the Repository Name field.
  7. Click Create.
