Creating an add-on domain in cPanel
Updated Tuesday February 16th 2021 / Category Web Hosting

What is an add-on domain?

An addon domain allows you to host additional and separate websites from a single web hosting plan. The files for the added domain(s) will be hosted in the same cPanel account, separated by folders.

Adding a domain to cPanel

    1. Log in to your cPanel service.
    2. Click on the Addon Domains icon on your cPanel home screen.
  1. You will now see Create an Addon Domain with some text boxes underneath.
New Domain Name: enter your new addon domain here.
Subdomain: this is required for the domain to function.
Leave this as the default value or specify a subdomain for this to function from.
Document Root: this is required for the domain to function.
Leave this as the default value or specify a folder to keep this site’s files in.
  2. Click Add Domain.

Once you have added your new Addon Domain(s) through cPanel, you should ensure you have pointed your domain name(s) at the VentraIP Web Hosting servers.
