What is happening to the plan I’m on with Summit Internet?
All web hosting plans with Summit Internet will be replicated on VentraIP’s infrastructure, ensuring both pricing and inclusions remain consistent.
Additionally, all customers can experience the unrivalled speed and reliability of our enterprise-grade hardware, offering improved performance for all customers migrating to VentraIP.
What is happening to my domain names with Summit Internet?
Most domain names registered with Summit Internet will be available for management within your newly created VIPControl Account shortly after the migration process has been finalised. A small number of domain names held with Summit Internet through other registrars will not appear in VIPControl however shortly after the acquisition we will email customers with any affected domain names with some login information to a Legacy Service Management portal to manage their domain.
If your domain does not appear in VIPControl and you’d like our team to assist you with a domain transfer, then please do not hesitate to call us on 13 24 85 or submit an eTicket via VIPControl with the request.
In the meantime you can contact our Technical Support should you require any immediate assistance regarding the management of your Summit Internet domain names and can do so by logging in to your VIPControl Account and submitting an eTicket or by calling us on 13 24 85.
What is happening to my prepaid hosting?
VentraIP will be honouring all prepaid web hosting services up until the next renewal date, with no additional costs added.
Summit Internet customers will not be forced to move to a new web hosting plan with VentraIP any time in 2018 and can expect to pay no more than the recurring price outlined by Summit Internet upon signup.
What’s happening with my payment information?
To ensure that customers’ payment information remains private, any credit card details stored with Summit Internet will not be transferred to VentraIP.
Any Summit Internet customers wishing to update their payment details can do so by logging into their VIPControl account and navigating as below: Account > My Payment Method > Update
How do I get in touch with the Technical Support team?
Our local team of web hosting experts are happy to assist you by answering any questions you may have regarding your Summit Internet service and are available 24 hours a day, 7 days per week.
For a swift response no matter what time of the day (or night), you can easily submit an eTicket through VIPControl or give them a call on 13 24 85.
How do I switch my Summit Internet DNS hosting over to VentraIP DNS hosting?
As of Wednesday 25th July 2018 all Summit Internet DNS hosting will be served by VentraIP’s infrastructure. This will affect any customers using the nameservers ns*.summitdns.com.au. All DNS resolution will continue to work as normal once it has been transitioned however please note that as of the 25th of July 2018 you will no longer be able to manage your DNS records via your Summit Internet control panel.
If you would like to use VentraIP’s Free DNS Hosting platform to manage your records you will first need to ensure your domain registration is with us. If it is not, then you can transfer your domain to us. Once the domain is in your VIPControl account you can go to Domain names > Manage > Click the domain to open the drop-down menu > Manage DNS. You will notice that the domain’s nameservers are showing ns*.summitdns.com.au. If you select the Free DNS Hosting option the system should display your Free DNS records for you to manage as normal.
