What is my email server? (IMAP, SMTP, and POP)

Email Hosting services

The following information applies if you are using an active service from the Email Hosting section of VIPcontrol. If you see no services here, please continue to the cPanel Web Hosting services section of this page instead.

For Email Hosting services, the incoming (POP/IMAP) and outgoing (SMTP) server is ventraip.email for all users.

cPanel Web Hosting services

The following information applies if you have followed these steps to create your email account(s) in a cPanel Web Hosting service.

Using the “mail.mydomain.com” alias

If your domain is pointing to the cPanel service using nameservers, you can connect to your email accounts using mail.<your domain here> as both the incoming (POP/IMAP) and outgoing (SMTP) server name when setting up your email in a mail app.

Locating the direct server name

When you’re not connected via nameservers, the “mail.” alias may not work for you. It is best to use the direct server name in this situation, located in VIPcontrol:

  1. Log in to VIPcontrol.
  2. Click the My Services link on the top → Hosting from the tabs underneath.
  3. Click Manage next to your cPanel hosting service.
  4. Scroll down this page until you see a heading titled cPanel Details. The cPanel hostname is both your incoming (POP/IMAP) and outgoing (SMTP) server name.
