All About Our Domain Acquisition Service
This article will cover what the service is, how it works and some frequently asked questions.
What is the Domain Acquisition Service?
If you’ve found your perfect domain name, but it’s already registered, you can use our Domain Acquisition services to attempt to purchase the domain on your behalf.
You will be assigned one of our domain specialists who will reach out to the current domain holder on your behalf and negotiate the sale of the domain within your budget and get the lowest price for you, while keeping you completely anonymous.
How it works
Step one: Applying for the service
To use the service, you will need to email sales@ventraip.com.au with some information that our domain specialists require:
- The domain name(s) you would like to pursue.
- The maximum budget that you would like to set to acquire the domain name.
- Any trademarks that you may possess.
- If you’ve contacted the current owner (including date of last contact, original asking price, and highest offer made).
- Preferred payment method for the initiation fee.
Once we have this information, we will get back to you with any further information we require.
Step two: Initiation and negotiations
Once the application is submitted, there will be an upfront $199 initiation fee (non-refundable). Once paid, you will be assigned a domain specialist to reach out to the current owner and attempt to acquire the domain on your behalf at the best price, within the budget you set.
If the negotiations are successful, we will be able to securely transfer the domain to your ownership.
Frequently asked questions
Does using this service guarantee I’ll get the domain name?
Your domain specialist will dedicate 30 days to negotiating and attempting to acquire the domain name, however there is no guarantee that our domain specialists will be able to acquire the domain name.
If we are unable to contact the domain owner, or if the owner doesn’t want to sell the domain, we won’t be able to acquire the domain for you, thus the application will expire.
Are there any fees or costs involved?
For a successful acquisition of a domain, your total invoice will look similar to the following:
- $199 initiation fee. (Note: This is non-refundable)
- The agreed upon purchase price for the domain.
- 20% commission applied to the purchase price.
- Any associated registry transfer costs.
How do you contact the owner of the domain?
Our domain experts will look at the WHOIS lookup of the domain and reach out to them via the registrant or administrative contact email listed. Otherwise we will look for any other publicly available information to contact them.
Are there any caveats?
The Domain Acquisition Service allows for our domain specialists 30 days to broker a deal for you. If the seller isn’t willing to part with the domain, is non contactable, or for any other means, then the order will expire. The initiation fee is non refundable regardless of its success or not.
Do I have to be an existing customer to use this service?
Anyone can submit an application to use the service, whether or not you’re an existing customer or a new customer.
Can I advertise to sell my domain through this service?
At this current time, we don’t support advertising domains to potential buyers through this service. This service is only for buyers wishing to acquire an already registered domain name.
Do you reveal any information about the buyer or seller when using this service?
We respect party confidentiality and do not reveal any personal information about the buyer or the seller through the negotiations. Both parties remain completely anonymous unless instructed.
