eM Client for macOS Email Setup Guide

This guide explains how to set up your email in eM Client on macOS. These instructions apply to both cPanel and Dedicated Email Hosting accounts. For Server/Hostname fields:

• If you use VentraIP Dedicated Email hosting, enter:
  ventraip.email
• If you use VentraIP cPanel Hosting, enter:
  mail.yourdomain.com(replace yourdomain.com with your domain)

Automatic setup

1. Open eM Client and Add an Account
2. Click Automatic Setup
3. Enter your email address and click ‘Start’.
4. If you get a pop-up, click ‘Continue’.
5. Enter your email password and click ‘Continue’
6. eM client will automatically detect the best settings and add your email account!

Manual Setup

1. Open eM Client and Add an Account
2. Click ‘Mail’.
3. Click ‘Other’, and then click ‘Next’.
4. Enter your email account (e.g., user@vipguides.au).
5. Enter Incoming Server settings:
   • Incoming Server Type: We recommend IMAP (see why here)
   • Server Address:
     Dedicated Email Hosting:ventraip.email
     cPanel Email Hosting: mail.yourdomain.com (replace with your actual domain).
   • User name: Enter your email account (e.g., user@vipguides.au).
   • Password: Enter your email account’s password (Forgotten password? Click here to reset)
6. Enter Outgoing Server settings:
• Outgoing Server:
  Dedicated Email Hosting:ventraip.email
  cPanel Email Hosting: mail.yourdomain.com (replace with your actual domain).
• User name: Enter your email account (e.g., user@vipguides.au).
• Password: Enter your email account’s password (Forgotten password? Click here to reset)
7. Click ‘Next’ and follow any final personalisation or setup prompts.
   eM Client will offer Encryption, whether you choose to configure this or not is up to you, eM Client have more information on this here Done!
