How Do I Renew My Domain Name if It’s Expiring Soon?
You may have been notified by us that your domain name is expiring soon and needs to be renewed, to avoid any disruptions with your website and email services, we recommend renewing your domain name before it expires. Here’s how to do this:
Renewing your domain name
Renewing your domain is quite easy! You can renew your domain name within VIPcontrol using the following steps:
- Log in to VIPcontrol
- Once logged in, click on My Services near the top of your screen, then Domains.
- Click ‘Manage’ to the right of the domain name you wish to renew.
- Click ‘Renew’ and select the renewal period and generate an invoice.

- Once the invoice is paid, the renewal will be processed within 15 minutes.
About domain renewals
Domain renewal rules depend on the type of domain you have.
- .au domains (e.g., .com.au, .org.au): Due to registry rules, .au type domains can only be renewed within 90 days of their expiry date.
- gTLD domains (e.g. .com, .net, .org): These can usually be renewed at any time, even if they are not close to expiry. Many people choose to renew or extend them well in advance for peace of mind.
Note: PayID and BPAY payments may take anywhere between 1-3 business days to process, so please make sure that you pay in advance of the expiry date for your domain if using either of these methods.
