Does VentraIP monitor my Self Managed VPS?
What do we monitor?
In short, VentraIP monitors the infrastructure side of your service, this includes:
- The network that your VPS uses
- The physical server that your VPS is on
Due to the nature of being a Self Managed product, We do not monitor the VPS itself or its services, This will have to be set up by yourself or your IT Infrastructure admin.
You can purchase the optional Nagios Service Monitoring addon. If you’ve purchased this addon, the following services are monitored: Disk Usage, HTTP/HTTPS, FTP, SSH, SMTP, IMAP, POP3, MySQL, NTP, Load and Exim Mail Queue.
With this addon, if any of these services go down or there is an issue, you will be notified via email to your VIPcontrol Account’s email address. We have a dedicated guide on this product here.
There are some great monitoring tools out there that you can setup, such as Pingdom, Uptime Kuma, Icinga , NetData and or Grafana + Prometheus which can provide full service monitoring and notifications.
