What Can I Do if My Domain Is in Redemption Grace Period (RGP)?
Your domain name has expired and is currently in Redemption Grace Period (RGP). During this period, the domain name is no longer resolving and is in a last chance state to renew.
How can I recover my Domain Name while in RGP?
To recover a domain that is in the redemption period, this has to be done manually, as such please lodge a new eTicket to our Billing team via VIPcontrol.
The reason being is that there is an RGP (Redemption Grace Period) fee that is applicable, in addition to the regular renewal fees imposed by the registry.
Due to the additional processing required, It can take up to 4 business days for the process to be completed.
We highly recommend to contact us as soon as possible as the longer you wait, the higher the chance that your domain name will not be recoverable.
What is Redemption Grace Period?
After a domain name expires, it enters a Redemption Grace Period (RGP). This is a 30-day "last chance" for you to restore your domain before it's deleted and made available to the public.
To restore a domain during this period, you must pay a special RGP fee in addition to the standard renewal cost. The RGP fee varies depending on the domain type, and our Billing team will confirm the exact price before you proceed.
Alternatively, you can wait out the 30-day Redemption Grace Period. After this period, the domain will be permanently deleted and released back into the public pool, typically within 5-6 days. At that point, anyone can register it, which means there's a high risk of losing the domain entirely.
