Getting Started with WHM – Step 4: Creating new cPanel accounts

This is part of a multi-step guide to get started with your WHM account on Reseller Shared hosting or on a VPS service that includes cPanel/WHM.

These guides will cover initial configuration and setup to get you ready to create cPanel accounts. Below you can can find links to each other section:

Step 1: Logging in to WHM

Step 2: Basic Navigation and Initial Configuration

Step 3: Creating new account packages

In this final section we will cover creating new cPanel accounts in your WHM service.

Creating a new cPanel account

  1. Login to your WHM.
  2. In the left hand menu go to Create a New Account.
  3. Enter the details you desire for that service; the domain name it’s to be associated with, username, password and the email address which will receive disk+bandwidth warning notices.
  4. Select the package for the limits you wish to apply.
  5. Complete the rest of the form and click Create.

You may then rinse and repeat as required to create more accounts.

Additional features for Shared Hosting Reseller accounts

We have a few additional features that can be configured available through VIPcontrol. These are all on a per-cPanel basis, but they can be nifty.

Some of these features include:

In addition to those features VIPcontrol allows you to buy additional data blocks and bandwidth, upgrade your service and much more.

You also have the option to provide your customers with custom whitelabel name servers which are branded to your business! To find out more about how you can do this, please see our ‘How do I create my own white label name servers for my WHM Multi service?‘ article.

Note: If on a VPS service these features will require configuration via the server itself or in the case of Cloudflare an additional account made with them directly. We can usually assist via a Server Management Job whether you are Self-Managed or Fully-Managed.

That’s it; you’re now ready to manage your WHM service as you need to. Be sure to check out the rest of our Support Centre FAQ articles if you need help or run a Google search (cPanel themselves offer some fantastic documentation and even video guides!);

if you get stuck and those avenues haven’t yielded a result, please submit an eTicket to our Technical Support team,
