How can I move my service(s) to VentraIP?
VentraIP proudly offers free data migration services for all email and web hosting services. We also allow free domain name transfers for some domain extensions (such as .au).
Please click one of the following links to learn more about how to transfer each type of service.
- Migrating a hosting service from another provider
- Migrating your emails from another mail server
- Transferring an existing domain name to VentraIP
Moving your domain name(s)
If you want to transfer your domain name(s) over to us, you need to get the EPP Codes (sometimes called Domain Password or Transfer Key/Token) for your domain name(s) from your existing domain name registrar.
Once you have those codes, you can submit transfer requests via our website.
Moving your web hosting
If you want to utilize our free migration service, please ensure that you have the information we require to access your existing web hosting service.
There is some specific information we’ll need to do this. Here are some examples of information we can use vs. information we cannot:
- Information we can use to move your website:
- cPanel login details (nothing else required)
- If your existing provider doesn’t use cPanel, we can use the following:
- FTP Login details for access to the website’s files.
- SSH Login details.
- To move the database we can use PHPMyAdmin Login details, MySQL login details, a backup of your database in .sql format.
- Information we cannot use to move your website:
- Website admin dashboard login details.
- WordPress admin login details.
- Magento login details.
- Management portals: The interface your provider gives you to manage your services/details with them
- Website admin dashboard login details.
Once you have that information, you can submit a migration request.
Moving your email accounts/data
If your emails are inside your cPanel account, then there is no need to take any further steps to move your email accounts over. If our team completes a cPanel migration for you, then those email accounts and the data inside them will be moved across as well.
If you host your emails separately to your web hosting service, you can request a migration of your email data by providing the following information:
- The IP Address of your old email hosting service/server.
- The usernames and passwords of the email accounts on your old hosting provider’s end.
- If you have already set up the new accounts on our end, you also need to give us the usernames and passwords for your new email accounts.
