How many emails can I send per hour?
Understanding Your Hourly Email Sending Limits
VentraIP places limits on the number of emails you can send per hour to prevent spam and maintain the reliability and reputation of our email sending network. These limits apply per domain, counted over any rolling 60-minute period.
Email Sending Limits
Service Type | Emails per Domain, per hour |
cPanel Web Hosting | 1,000 |
Dedicated Email Hosting | 2,000 |
Fully Managed VPS | 2,000 |
Self Managed VPS | With Complete Security Suite addon : 2,000 Without: Unlimited |
Need to send more emails?
If you occasionally exceed these limits, upgrading from cPanel to Axigen or a VPS could help. However, for consistent high-volume email sending (newsletters, marketing campaigns, or bulk transactional emails), our services aren't the ideal choice.
Instead, consider dedicated email delivery platforms such as:
- Brevo (formerly Sendinblue)
- SendGrid
- Mailgun
- Amazon SES
- Mailchimp
These platforms provide better deliverability, advanced reporting, analytics, compliance management, and improved inbox placement; they are designed specifically for bulk mailing.
Best Practices for Bulk Email Sending
Follow these practices to ensure high deliverability and compliance:
- Use different domains or subdomains for different email types - keep marketing emails separate from transaction confirmations.
- Set up email security with SPF, DKIM, and DMARC. These help prove your emails are really from you. See our guide on this here.
- Keep your email list updated by removing bad or inactive email addresses regularly.
- Always include unsubscribe links in every email to follow rules and reduce complaints.
- Track how people interact with your emails (who opens them, clicks links) to make better campaigns.
- Space out large email sends, even if you don't have limits, to avoid being marked as spam.
Monitoring Your Email Usage
For cPanel/FMVPS users:
- Use Track Delivery to monitor sent emails and bounces.
- Check Email Deliverability for your SPF and DKIM status.
For Axigen Dedicated Email Hosting users:
- Check Spam Filtering logs for bounces and deferrals.
For SMVPS users:
- Review server-side logs (i.e Exim Mainlog).
Acceptable Use Policy
All email usage must comply with our Acceptable Use Policy. Please review Section 8: Spam & Bulk Email carefully. Accounts sending spam, unsolicited emails or exceeding limits may face throttling or suspension.
